What
Is Meditation?
The
concept of meditation comes from the Sanskrit word, dhyana,
which refers to a special state. In this state, there
is a
steady flow of attention to one thing. When the attention
stays on one thing long enough, after a while, a shift into
the meditative state occurs naturally and spontaneously.
How
Do I Do It?
"Keep
it simple. Use the music and make it easy.
"When
you listen to Music
for Relaxation, Meditation and Rejuvenation, you can let
the music do everything for you. If you become distracted
by other things, you can either put your attention back on
the music, or just let the music handle everything and not
worry about it — allow the music to command your attention
until you make the shift to a meditative state.
"Trying
to meditate can be like trying to remember a name or a word:
you have it on the tip of your tongue but it just won't come
to you — the harder you try, the more elusive it becomes.
So don't work so hard at meditation. Don't try to make it
happen. Just relax and let the music meditate you.
"Beyond
this, knowledge of the science and technology
of meditation will result in a massive increase in your progress,
and the very satisfying payoffs that progress brings with it.
Knowledge always pays off big time when it is applied."
