Natural Meditation
We
help you to find the meditation that is natural to you.
The first aim of Natural Meditation is to take you to
a special state in which the life energy (prana)
becomes concentrated in one place (dharana) and remains
there sufficiently, so that you naturally and
spontaneously shift into a meditative state (dhyana). When in
the meditative state the mind comes to rest with
full equanimity, union with the Divine is experienced (samadhi, or yoga ).
By
practicing meditation, you provide yourself with the opportunity
for this experience to present itself. Through this process,
opportunities for reaping other benefits unfold naturally along the way.
The
Benefits of Meditation
From How to Meditate Successfully, Durga Ma, ©1994
When the
form of meditation practiced corresponds to the nature of the individual, meditation comes easily and produces beneficial
results.
Meditation
can be used for practical purposes, such as focusing your
attention or calming yourself in an instant. When you are
becoming agitated in a difficult situation, a few moments
of meditation can put you at ease and help you regain control.
Meditation
can also take you to amazingly deep levels of relaxation.
It can quiet your mind, improve your concentration and help
you achieve your goals. You can even learn to control pain,
blood pressure, heartbeat, or the flow of blood from a wound.
Through the process of meditation, the natural healing power
of the body can be freed to do its job . . . meditation can
help you reach undreamed of depths of inner experience and
union with the Divine (whatever your word is for that). You
won't find a more far reaching, more efficient, more pleasant
means for a general overhaul in your life. All you have to
do is do it.
Meditating
Naturally
All authentic forms of meditation fall into one of these two categories: technique and non-technique.
It
is the nature of the mind to find meditation complicated and
difficult to practice, but by understanding how it works,
not only does it become easier to practice, it becomes apparent that meditation is natural to everyone.
Meditation
comes easily when you know what type of meditation to practice. We
help you to find the meditation that is natural for you.
Non Technique Meditation
Because
there is an abundance of meditation techniques readily available today,
we are pleased to offer an ancient form of meditation that unfolds naturally and
spontaneously on its own without the use of techniques.
This type of meditation is not generally
known or available, and is traditionally passed on from a teacher to only
a few long-term students. It is introduced in a modified form
in the Technique & Non Technique Meditation seminar. Although this type of meditation is not for everyone, it is freeing and empowering to know all your options. Technique & Non Technique Meditation seminars provide an exploration of this alternative meditation. Shaktipat Intensives are suggested for persons who wish to take the next step in Non Technique Meditation.
